Wonderful...

Just realised I've got a ticket in the car with 3 laps remaining on it When does it open again ?

As an aside, who did the remix of Singing in the Rain, or was it lifted from the VW advert ?

The singing in the rain song is by: Mint Royale

Film stitched together by my very talented brother Az, Once the 9 hrs of footage were finally on the PC the film took about 2 weeks worth of evenings to stitch together.

Oh - and getting the footage in the first place was of course, a real bind !

"Sorry dear, I have to go again - it's for the film don't you know" (whip, slap - OUCH, byeeee!)

Superb - congratulate your brother AZ on great editing on some clever software (what is it?) to well chosen music - and not an engine sound to be heard - something that usually generates groans

By watching this film, it has confirmed to me that quality editing takes time but is well worth the effort. I`ve read that the recent Bugatti Veyron "race" on Top Gear was a finished film of 32 minutes - but to edit took 33 x 16 hour days - less than a minute per day!

Ahh! Mr Beech !

I was watching some of your videos the other day, and whilst all of the comments made so far are warming, as someone who obviously considers the creative art/technicality of making films like these - your comment is especially appreciated. The film was edited using Vegas 5.

I suppose that the Veyron was a one shot gig for TG, I bet they got all the footage they could whenever they could which took more time to go through. I bet not too many people get to test a car like that on a feature like that for a second time ?

They had the car for 6 days, taking "on the fly" footage in real time during the race with a chase/pace car - then a director and crew re-traced the entire journey once more, this time getting all the footage they needed to complete the film - they must have slightly bigger shooting budgets to us then!

Hhhmmmm - let's see now ..... "Darling, you know we are off to the Ring last weekend in May? Yes? Well, we are going to have to go again the following weekend - you know just to make sure we got the footage .... " (Whip! Slap! OUCH!)

Aargh!! Ever since downloading this great film, I`ve been humming "singing in the rain" and finally had to go and buy the CD yesterday to banish it from my head!

It`s the VW golf advert variation by Mint Royale if anyone wants to know!

Great video !!!

I like the travelling to the ring section, have the multiple Picture - in - Picture help make a boring bit of footage so much better.

Do you know any other software that can do that, or just Vegas?

Nige.

Cheers Nige/Dazren!

I'm sure most pro/semi pro software will handle stuff like that! I reckons you need it sometimes to keep interest up!

Looking forward to the next trip!

Big thanks for making the effort there.

That GT4 was quick round there ! Way quicker than the guy that owns it (by his own admission - he's coming back with us in May and vows not to use the brakes so much!)

If you are reading this Paul - DON'T LIFT ....

Hey, it's my car and I'll drive it as slow as I like!
The green hell really took my breath away, I must admit.
I can get a gt4 round in 7 mins 30 secs on the ps2, which just goes to show how "realistic" it really is, not.
It's a million times more fun for real and we'll see what the old fella (me) can do at Whitsun, deffo 10 mins, perhaps a lot less, lol.
This vid IS the best, brill.

Havin provided some of the footage for this vid and knowing how hard Az and Daz worked to produce Ringin in the Rain, its great to read the awsome feed back from everyone. Boys keep up the great work and cant wait for May 06.

By the way the Langeveld boys are going down this time
Porker 997 S bring it on Mr and Mrs Caterham.

Bring it on Big Boy, didn't you know that you can drive faster round the Ring if you don't have a deposit on your car .. ?

The only time the Brothers Langeveld go down is on a Saturday night round your house when you are out !

Just a quick note;

It's great to come back to some of these comments and recognise people that are now friends that I didn't know at the time.

You know who you are ........ smile

Ringin' in the Rain is due to be shown at the Pistonheads show this week at the NEC - Thanks to Will Needham.

Also - Thanks again to my brother Adam for taking the time to edit it all.

I feel like I'm at the Golden Globes (well this film didn't need any writers...)

Nah I reckon your PS2 Celica must be a WRC edition. You can add at least four minutes to your road car lap for that. rofl
