It make's today's BTCC look a bit lame - those 80's rear wheel drive cars are all over the place.
I missed out on the Sierra era and got into BTCC from about 1992 onwards, but watching almost standard looking cars going for it still cannot be beat today.
Things went downhill when Alfa decided in usual Italian "diving football style-e" that if they couldn't win fair and square they'd "bend the rules" (think Ferrari and Sh1tmacher) and came up with that huge wing on the 155. Obviously everyone else had to follow, and soon we had a load of cars with more downforce than power and no one could overtake. Alfa won the championship, but as soon as they started to lose again they pulled out.
I've got every video (remember them) and DVD for the BTCC seasons from present and all the way back to 1993, so I'll have to dust some of the early ones off and watch them, but if anyone can point me in the direction of more rear out Sierra action it'll be much appreciated.
Cheers.

The last time Tiff Needell reviewed a car and actually attempted to avoid sliding it sideways...

I was there that day, a wide eyed 10 year old at Halfords corner, great stuff.

I was the cameraman getting them down the back straight, would love to see it again.

Hi, sorry I've only just seen this post. Didn't get an email for some reason.
I think I've only got the Duke one - I can have a look though, I did tape some.
Not a bad job that. Cameraman - many years ago I was ready to go to Uni and start a Video degree with that career in mind, but I spent too much time arsing around at college
You still do it?
