Presumably the tractor was there for them to run behind if anything went wrong.

Holy moly that's quick!!

Did he hit the ton in 2nd gear or did he start in 2nd - in any case he only changed gear once!

I want to see any current road legal Noble cars beat that record.

I love Ultimas, especially the GTR! I will own that car, woohoo!

Fantastic!

I assumed he had started in 2nd having only used one change, but hell... if he hit the ton in 2nd at what looks like about 7500rpm... wow! Wish my TVR would rev like that.

Great traction off the line. I chatted to Ted ages ago about TC for an Ultima. Obviously not needed in the dry! He did say he killed everybody around the track with it though.

At this moment, in a secret hideaway, the Caterham engineers are plotting their revenge.... mmmwwwahahahahahah.

Well, Caterham believe this record to be almost their sole preserve so don't be surprised if they do not try to wrest it back.

It's a bit like the Nurburgring Production Car Lap Record - something else Caterham like to have on their list of achievements.

yeah well what about the Tiger WR, that acelarates the quickest in the world to 60, so surely with abit of tinkering then that has to be a strong contender

Indeed, for the last few years there has been the usual exotics, but there always has been a R500 there that wins through! Generally through awesome braking though, the 60-100 times have definite scope for improvement still...
R500+supercharger= R600 or R700 for next time?

lol! I'd like to see that. If you think you can get much more out of the VHPD then it will probably only last one 0-100-0 run

Wow, that looks like fun, bit of a slide under braking, but wow...

I thought the tractor was there as a marker, i.e. try to stop before this.

Is this a record, resurrecting a thread after 4 years?

Still waiting for an 'official" lap of the TG test track. A car that old is still embarrasing the new boys.

Fantastic cars!

Just goes to show how ahead of its time the Ultima is.

Does anyone actually know why TG wont run it on their test track? This really puzzles me. Along ith all the articles in the TG magazine about performance related disciplines, and they act like the car doesnt exist.
